Scripture Reading: Proverbs 14:12
In a thriving city, a businessman named John had everything he could ever want—wealth, success, and fame. However, he made a series of poor decisions, chasing temporary pleasure rather than seeking wisdom and guidance. Over time, his empire crumbled, leaving John with nothing but regret. The phrase, “Had I known…” echoed in his mind as he realized the mistakes he had made, wishing he could turn back time.
In life, we all face moments where our decisions lead to consequences we didn’t foresee. Proverbs 14:12 warns, “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death.” This verse reminds us that relying on our own understanding can lead to regret and destruction.

God calls us to seek His wisdom and guidance before making decisions. When we act according to our own desires without seeking God’s will, we often find ourselves filled with regret. But when we trust in God’s plan, He leads us on a path of peace and purpose.
Reflect on your decisions. Are they based on God’s wisdom, or are you following your own understanding? Like John, learn from past mistakes, but also choose today to seek God’s guidance in every aspect of your life.
Child of God, avoid the painful consequences of regret by trusting in the Lord’s direction. Seek His wisdom before making decisions, and walk confidently on the path He has set before you. By doing so, you will avoid regret and embrace the fullness of God’s purpose for your life.
